Abstract
Some 23 lamps were unearthed at the excavation of Ḥorbat Rozez: one dated to the Hellenistic period, one to the Early Roman period, one to the Early Islamic period and the rest to the Byzantine period. All the Byzantine-period lamps, as well as the Early Islamic example, suggest an affinity with the Samaritan culture. The lamp assemblage from Ḥorbat Rozez is typical of that found in other communities on Mount Carmel.
