Abstract
In 1969, an underwater excavation was conducted in Sharm el-Sheikh bay, under the direction of A. Raban. The remains of a ship and its cargo were exposed. According to the excavator, the ship apparently sank due to a fire. The finds were dated to the 17th century CE, at the earliest (see excavation file for a detailed report, plans and drawings of finds).
