Abstract
In April 1953, a trial excavation was conducted in the Qiryat Yoel neighborhood of Bene Beraq (map ref. 184/664), under the direction of J. Kaplan. The excavation was carried out following the discovery of remains of a fortress during the construction of a synagogue in the eastern part of the Vizhnitz Yeshiva courtyard.
