Abstract
In November 1956, a trial excavation was conducted at Al–Jura in Ashqelon (map ref. 15757/61975), following the discovery of a tomb during the paving of a road. The excavation, on behalf of the Department of Antiquities and Museums, was directed by J. Ory and J. Hevesi.
