Abstract
In April 1964, a trial excavation was conducted at Mezad Gozal, on the shore of the Dead Sea near the northern tip of Mount Sodom (map ref. 2369/5598). The excavation, on behalf of the Department of Antiquities and Museums, was directed by Y. Aharoni, with the assistance of Prof. Young and his students from the Israeli–American Institute, Z. Klein and D. Niv (geology).
