Abstract

This paper presents a Byzantine–Early Islamic-period ring adorned with a Resurrection scene, which was recently discovered in salvage excavations the Giv’ati Parking Lot, Jerusalem. This ring is the first of its kind to be retrieved from a well-dated stratified archaeological context. It enables us to confirm the traditional dating of similar rings kept in museum collections and discuss their possible function in early Christian pilgrimage.
